No Spam!
Granza has a no tolerance spam policy. We are a permission based email marketing system that follows the strictest permission based rules. Any user found to be using Granza for spam will immediately be cut-off from using the system. Granza actively monitors its system for spam activity, including, but not limited to the importing of large email lists. If you know of or suspect any violators, please notify us immediately at abuse@granza.com.

What Is Spam?

Spam is unsolicited email. It is also known as UCE, or Unsolicited Commercial Email. When you use Granza to send email only to those who have requested to receive it from you, you are following accepted permission based email guidelines.

Why A No Spam Policy Is Important

Simply stated, spam hurts everyone. Our goal is to reach the highest levels of user satisfaction, customer opt ins, read rates and retention. When user email activities are reported as spam, the Gmail's, Yahoo's and AOL's of the world can block even innocent users from reaching their customers. A federal anti-spam law went into effect on January 1st, 2004. The law details the rules with regards to the sending of commercial email. Even with these tough rules, spam is still a major problem. Penalties can include a fine and/or imprisonment for up to 5 years.

How We Make It Happen

Granza policies and built in features help to insure that you remain compliant. By accepting our Terms and Conditions, you have agreed to use only permission based lists and that you will never use rented or purchased email lists. All of your emails automatically contain your contact information and physical address. Your email header information contains your verified email address. The "From" address identifies you as the sender. Your Granza sign up states why you are collecting contact, customer, visitor or any other email addresses and how you plan to use them, and that you are following our privacy policy. Informed consent tells your recipients that they are receiving your emails because they have made a purchase, requested information, responded to a questionnaire or a survey, or had offline contact with you. Your emails automatically contain verbiage confirming their interest in receiving emails from you. If any of your contacts change their preferences or unsubscribes, Granza automatically sends out an email confirmation. All emails contain an unsubscribe link, which automatically updates your list so unwanted emails are not sent. Attempts to modify or disable these embedded links are cause for immediate termination. Ultimately, you are fully responsible for insuring that unsubscribe requests are processed immediately.

Check Yourself Out. Take The Spam Test:

  • Are you emailing to anyone who has not explicitly agreed to join your emailing list?
  • Have you falsified your originating address or transmission path information?
  • Does your email's subject line contain false or misleading information?
  • Are you sending to non-specific email addresses such as: business@domain.com, webmaster@domain.com, info@domain.com, sales@domain.com, or other general addresses?
  • Are you importing a purchased or rented email list of any kind?
  • Are you sending to distribution lists or mailing lists which send indirectly to a variety of email addresses?
  • Have you used a third party email address or domain name without their permission?
  • Does your email fail to provide a functioning link to unsubscribe?
  • Although Granza emails have embedded unsubscribe links, you are responsible for all unsubscribe requests. Are you failing to process any unsubscribe requests that come to you via a reply to your email within 10 days of the request?
  • If you have answered yes to ANY of the above questions, you will likely be labeled a SPAMMER and may NOT use Granza. For more information, please visit The Coalition Against Unsolicited Email at www.cauce.org.
